0n 01.03.2009 the school master of International Kung Fu Training Center Chen Tong Shan increased the training fee from 375 US$ to 450 US$ each month. Chen Tong Shan told us, the living conditions in china, e.g. food, electricity, water, and so on, are much more expensive, so he should increase the price. The master trainer Xu Yong tried to make him clear, that this isn't the right way.

Now master Xu Yong and we will try to find a solution for this problem, so in the future foreign students are able to learn Shaolin Kung Fu at fair prices in a good Kung Fu school with an excellent training and with a variety of styles.

Many martial arts fans already thought about training Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi or Sanda (chinese boxing) with the monks directly in Shaolin. But china isn't an "easy" country for travelling. Most of Chinese people don't understand the English language so the basics of Chinese are elementary, but who wants to learn Chinese only for a short travelling trip of some weeks? Furthermore it is very difficult to organize a shaolin kung fu stay from your country.

Due to many requests of shaolin kung fu trips we offer you in cooperation with master trainer Shi Yan Lin and Shaolin Temple Xiao Long Kung Fu Training Center this fantastic trip:

Travel date

There are NO specific travel dates, so you can arrive whenever you want. Short-term arrival is possible too. So you are able to integrate your shaolin trip to your china sightseeing tour like visiting the Great Wall in Beijing, the Summer palast, the Temple of Heaven, the Longmen Grottos in Luoyang or the Terracotta armee in Xi'an (Here you will find some fantastic videos of sightseeing tours).

Services and prices

Costs of all above services are 450 US$ / month (incl. accomodation!)

Personal training is possible, but the costs will be higher, before you should take a look at general training.

Training is suitable for beginners and advanced students.

If we get ALL information we will give you the email address of the master trainer of International Kung Fu Training Center. You can ask your questions and give him your arrival date, time and flight number in Zhengzhou. At Zhengzhou airport the school bus will pick you up and bring you to International Kung Fu Training Center. There you will book your accomodation, training and food and next day you will start your shaolin kung fu/Tai Chi/Sanda training. It's very easy.

Notes: The booking can only be done in International Kung Fu Training Center in china. This website only offer some information, but we have nothing to do with booking, accomodation, training, food, services and so on. We don't assume any liability. For those, who will stay less than 3 months, you'll have to pay the school fee at arrival in International Kung Fu Training Center, if you will stay for a longer time, you'll have to pay for the next 3 months in advance.

Notes to payment in China: The simplest way for payment is using chinese money (Yuan). In many banks (e.g. bank of china or China construction bank) you will get money with your ec-card or credit card. The fee will be approx. 4,50 EUR, with credit cards approx. 3%. Of course payment in school with EUR or US$ is possible too. You can also use traveller cheques. If you will stay for a longer period of time and paid money to the school, the International Kung Fu Training Center will give you back your money for all not used months. In all other schools this isn't possible! We recommend that you should bring EUR or US$ for the first months school fee with you, after you can use your ec-card or credit card.

Training

The foreigners will be coached by the master trainer Xie Xu Yong who is one of the first class kungfu master from shaolin temple with big teaching experience on foreigners. The training is hard, so you should be prepared well (doing some exercises like stretching and running at home).

You are able to learn the Xiao Hong Quan (Small Red Fist), Tong Bei Quan (Straight Complete Arm), Shaolin Dao (Shaolin Sword), Shaolin Gun (Shaolin Stick), Shaolin Qian (Shaolin Spear), San Jie Gun (3-section Staff), Jiu Jie Bian (9-section whip), Tai Chi Quan, Huo Quan (Tiger From), Tang Lang (Praying Mantis Form), Sanda (Chinese Boxing) (and some more animal styles or weapons are possible).

By now 3 times a week a special Tai Chi coach from Chen Jia Gou, the origin of the Chen Style, is teaching chinese and foreign students. Each student can decide whether he would like to participate in Shaolin Kung Fu or Tai Chi training. In 2006 Tai Chi will be taught daily.

A new Sanda trainer, who won many many competitions, will now train foreign students. Every foreign student can choose, if he will train fulltime or parttime Sanda.

In 2007 International Kung Fu Training Center investigated a lot of money in a new "Fitness room" with a lot of different weights. Only a few wushu schools in china offer this service to students!

Foreigners can decide individually - depending upon their level - which forms or weapons they want to learn.

After competition each student will get a certificate.

At the end of the training students will get a diploma.

Training plan is arranged well for every student in the Training Base, foreign students have six days training a week and a free day on sunday.

International Kung Fu Training Center

The purpose of the International Kung Fu Training Center (Songshan Shaolin Temple Xiao Long Kung Fu Training Center) is to advance kungfu skills and the knowledge, performance and cultural exchanges. Since 1980 the head master Chen Tong Shan operates the Shao Lin SI Wu Shu Xue Xiao in Dengfeng and the International Kung Fu Training Center, so he has much experience. The International Kung Fu Training Center received numerous honors, e.g. "Henan Grade I Martial Arts School", "Henan Top Ten Martial Arts School" and "Nationwide Top Ten Martial Arts School". With an area of 100.000 m2 and 16.000 m2 buildings (and training facilities) the school offers enough place for training and living. More than 3000 students train at this school. Located in dengfeng city/Henan province in central China International Kung Fu Training Center offers best traffic connections. It's only a 20 - 25 minutes bus trip to Shaolin or famous Zhonyue Miao (Temple).

The school has several huge school buildings (for living and training). To the left and right are numerous large school yards.

The three big training halls are gigantic, so you will have enough space for acrobatics, fight and weapons.

Foreign students will get a double-room. The rooms are clean and for chinese conditions well equipped. But notice you can't expect the same standard like in europe or the USA.

PC with DSL Internet connection and email is available and free of charge.

You can watch latest current movies in the DVD room, a good reconciliation of the hard training.

Foreigners have the same dining hall with Chinese students but they can choose between numerous food (vegetarian food is available).

At the school area offers some leisure-time facilities like table tennis or basketball.

Foreign students can join all school activities with other chinese students.

Master trainer Xie Xu Yong

Shi Yan Lin, by the local name of Xie Xu Yong, was born in Zou Cheng city, Shandong province. At his 23 years old, he is one of the first class kungfu master from shaolin temple with his rich teaching experience on foreigners.

The three-section staff, pudao, imitated form are his specialities and he also knows a lot of other kungfu skills. At the age of 8 his uncle, who was practising kungfu too, took him to shaolin temple to learn shaolin kungfu. After physical practise and mentally developement, he entered Songshan shao lin si kungfu school for futher education on science and kungfu theory. "Hard training and endurance are the way to learn real kungfu".

During his studies he got very known in the shaolin area, due to his own efforts of learning English and self developing, including his gentle manners. Since 1996 he is teaching kungfu under control of his master and since then he began to make friends with many foreign students. After his visit to European countries he is planning to extend the teaching of foreign students for traditional culture exchange.

Three years of researches on kungfu theory and Buddhism gave him a chance to preserve his future. His friends from all around of the world contact him through letters and emails. Regardless of the big distances he is spreading the shaolin kungfu culture to the world, because deep in his heart, zen and wu are the real resources of his energy and he has devoted himself to the construction of chinese kungfu.

Abbot Shi Yong Xin

Before he entered the monk hood, his name used to be Lin Ying Cheng, was born at Ying Yang of Anhui province in 1965.

At present he is the 30th generation abbot of the shaolin Charityard welfare Foundation, standing director of the nan Buddist Associatiom, the representive of the people as National Congress and a member of the National youth Feberation. Yong Xin inherits traditions and makes new trails. Besides the affairs of the temple, he is working on books. Recently ,his monograph is edition of zen books, has been published already .He is the author of many writing those paly a very important role on spreading zen and martial arts.

He visits this school from time to time.
